Increasing tenant satisfaction
We listen to and act on constructive feedback from our tenants, which has improved our service and our ability to respond more quickly to specific requests. Our Service Centre continuously handles enquiries and supports tenants with both large and small matters. Since 2020, tenant satisfaction (NPS) has increased by an impressive 50 points—a target originally set for 2025.
Although these initiatives are reflected in rising tenant satisfaction, we continuously strive to further improve our service and set new goals. Satisfaction surveys and ongoing dialogue have become an integral part of our way of working, ensuring a focused and targeted approach. We look forward to sharing more about new initiatives in our 2023 ESG Report.
Employee satisfaction is our top priority
Our results and innovative initiatives are primarily driven by our skilled employees. Their wellbeing is our highest priority, which is why we have implemented annual wellbeing surveys and inclusion workshops to continuously improve our working environment.
To strengthen team spirit, our staff association organised a range of activities throughout the year, including curling, a fishing trip, Oktoberfest, the DHL Relay Race, the Christmas party, and Friday bars. We look forward to many more memorable moments—also with the many new colleagues who joined us in 2023.
As an employer, we aim to support initiatives that benefit our employees. In 2023, we achieved certification as a cycle-friendly workplace, based on meeting the Danish Cyclists’ Federation’s standards for bicycle parking, employee facilities, workshops, and bike services, as well as our communication efforts.
ESG – an integrated part of our daily work
In 2023, Kereby published its annual ESG report for the second consecutive year. For the first time, we introduced official targets for 2025 and 2030. One of these goals was to upgrade the energy ratings for 90% of the total property area in our portfolio—a milestone we achieved before the end of the year.
At Kereby, ESG is a high priority, and we believe that sharing experiences with industry peers is essential to identifying both challenges and best practices. As a result, our Head of ESG has participated in numerous conferences, workshops, ESG networks, and initiatives such as Ejendom Danmark’s ESG Relay.
For us, transparency and high-quality reporting are essential when assessing sustainability efforts. We believe that understanding one’s data is a prerequisite for progress across Environmental, Social, and Governance areas. Therefore, over the past two years, we have reported to GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark), which evaluates sustainability performance within the real estate sector. In 2023, we achieved 3 out of 5 GRESB stars for our ability to report on Kereby’s environmental impact, social conditions, and governance practices—an achievement we are proud of.
This type of reporting has provided us with a more nuanced understanding of our business. It has also given us a data-driven foundation to focus our efforts on value-creating areas and has positioned us well as we move towards an exclusive focus on CSRD reporting going forward.
Partnerships that make a difference
In 2023, we entered into an exciting collaboration with Recirk, which repairs household appliances with a strong focus on reusing items such as fridge-freezers, tumble dryers, cookers, and washing machines across our properties.
By repairing, reusing, and recycling more products, we reduce the CO₂ emissions that would otherwise result from new production. So far, 20% of appliances have been repaired and reused within our properties, while the remaining units have been sent for recycling. This initiative has resulted in a CO₂ reduction of 4,014 kg.
We look forward to an exciting 2024.
Wishing you a warm and peaceful Christmas.
