Copenhagen, January 14, 2020
Kereby has today informed more than 300 tenants that their rent has been reduced. Kereby has conducted a comprehensive review of individual units, the condition of the properties, and comparable market rent levels in order to assess rent levels for those residential units that have been renovated in accordance with Section 5(2) of the Danish Rent Regulation Act.
The rent reduction is part of a broader initiative launched by Kereby’s new management to review all aspects of the business and ensure tenants the best possible long-term service and operational quality.
“At Kereby, we focus on running our business in a respectful, responsible, and professional manner. We continuously work to improve tenant satisfaction and raise service levels as part of our long-term operations here in Copenhagen. This rent reduction follows a series of initiatives implemented as part of our new operational approach and will ensure market-aligned and highly competitive rent levels,” says Lars Pærregaard, CEO of Kereby.
Tenants have been informed of their specific rent reductions, which will take retroactive effect from the commencement of their lease or from the date Kereby took over the property. Following the reductions, rent levels across Kereby’s portfolio of units renovated under Section 5(2) will range between DKK 750 and DKK 1,650 per m², which is both competitive and in line with market standards.
The rent adjustment for each unit is based on an individual assessment of the unit, the overall condition of the property, and comparable rent levels in the relevant area.
In addition to the rent review, management is assessing all enquiries relating to maintenance and service matters. Tenants are therefore encouraged to contact Kereby and arrange meetings to discuss any outstanding issues.
